Roll-On/Roll-Off (RoRo) Operations
Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) operations, a Mafi trailer (or roll trailer) acts as a heavy-duty wheeled platform used to load non-motorized, static, or oversized cargo. A terminal tractor (tugmaster) hooks up to the Mafi using a gooseneck pin, rolls the cargo up the vessel ramp, parks it inside the deck, and unhooks it for secure ocean transit. Eg Modular trailers using king pin size to tow using tow tug instead of using power pack unit.

How It Works
Step-by-Step Loading Process
Pre-Staging
The cargo is placed onto the Mafi platform at the terminal yard using heavy cranes or forklifts.
Securing (Lashing)
Workers lash, chain, and block the cargo tightly to the Mafi deck so it cannot shift under motion.
Towing
A terminal tractor attaches a gooseneck attachment to the front of the Mafi trailer.
Rolling On
The tractor reverses or pulls the Mafi up the ship's stern or side ramp directly into the garage decks.
Parking and Disconnection
The unit is parked into its designated stowage slot, unhooked from the tractor, and lashed to the ship's deck fittings for the voyage.
